In the late 1970’s Sandy started his transportation career
in the LTL business as a sales management trainee.
Working his way up he eventually advanced to
hold positions such as Terminal Manager, Sales Manager and National Account
Manager.
In the mid 1980’s he was
presented with an opportunity in the expedite transportation world.
Stewart accepted the position as General
Manager of Sales and Marketing, where he helped guide this Michigan based
company to become the largest Michigan intra-state expedite company at that
time.
The next opportunity presented to Stewart was in the liquid
& dry bulk transportation arena where he served as Corporate Vice President
of Sales for one of the nation’s largest bulk carriers based in Houston
Texas.
Having developed a passion for
expedited transportation, Stewart returned to this arena and joined an expedite
company based in Media, Ohio-as Director of Sales and Marketing where he helped
guide the company’s growth to where it becoming the 2nd largest
ground expedite company in the country.
Stewart’s next adventures in the expedited transportation
world allowed him to “re-label” an existing expedite transportation company,
giving it a higher marketing profile which facilitated new revenue growth and
he also set-up and started a Logistics division for a large expedite
transportation company based in Ohio.
With a long history of helping existing companies grow and
become profitable, in 2003 Stewart decided it was time to for him to become an
entrepreneur and as a partner started an expedite transportation logistics
company which specialized in providing expedited transportation solutions.
In his role as CEO, Stewart developed the
business plan, guided the business development efforts and oversaw the daily
financials to insure the company was positioned to grow and take advantage of
current and future market opportunities while maintaining a healthy, stable,
and profitable financial position.
Over the last three years, Bolt Express has been presented
as one of the “Fastest Growing Expedite Companies in North America” by GPS
Technologies.
The growth history, year
after year has continued to astound many in the expedite industry.
Now the Bolt Express team looks forward to
taking advantage of Sandy’s years of experience and the success he has had with
a number of other carriers to continue to expand and grow their already
successful business.
