Smart Computing - Mouse Button Shortcuts
Did you know that you could use the left and right mouse buttons at the same time. There are several tasks that can be called upon by this method (called "HyperJump").
Cyber Expediter
When you click both mouse buttons at the same time a small box with nine squares will appear behind the cursor. Each square can perform a function. The only square that has no function is the center square. The functions are as follows, clockwise from the top left corner square:
* Pop-Up Menu *
This function option brings up the menu bar of the active window.
* Minimize *
This function allows you to minimize the active window.
* Close *
This function allows you to close the active window.
* Vertical Scroll Box Lock *
This function causes the mouse cursor to lock onto the vertical scroll bar. Unlocking the scroll bar is as simple as clicking the left or right mouse button or pressing the escape (Esc) button.
* Size Grip Arrow *
This function allows you to resize the active window that is open in normal mode.
* Horizontal Scroll Box Lock *
This function causes the mouse cursor to lock onto the horizontal scroll bar. Unlocking the scroll bar is as simple as clicking the left or right mouse button or pressing the escape (Esc) button.
* Start Menu *
This function moves the cursor the start button on the taskbar and launches the Start menu.
* Window Recall *
This function allows you to recall the last active window.
Clicking both mouse buttons will works in any active window or straight from the desktop and the availability of options will depend on what program you are using.
Please Note: "HyperJump" must be enabled for this method to work. It can be set by doing the following steps: Click on Start/Settings/Control Panel
Open the "Mouse" Properties, then select the "Buttons" Tab. Under "Button Assignments" there are three boxes that allow you to change the assignments of each mouse button and the assignment for 'Both' -- in the middle box (Both), select "HyperJump" from the drop-down menu and click o.k. and then close the Control Panel.
